The perfect moment

You tell yourself a story, the story that you have been told, by your parents, your friends, your teachers, and strangers, about you. Who you are and what your worth is. Remember the day that you fell, the awkward encounter with your crush, or how you made a fool of yourself due to certain misunderstandings? Or just the rumors that someone spread about you when you were in your college. How the person you felt connected to wasn’t really the one to be trusted. How you have been deceived, laughed at, cried. But then found the most loving people along the way.

Memory is the most vital and the most hurtful. It can bring you joy or leave you completely in tears. Remember the time you wore that dress, looking your finest, and the day that you talked to a stranger, or that day when a baby smiled at you cheerfully? The winds that ran through your hair when you first started riding your bike.Or the mornings with your parents where you sat down and talked endlessly. The day when you laughed your heart out with your friends over some stupid jokes. The time you laughed wholeheartedly! Memory can heal you.

We all tell stories to ourselves based on our previous encounters with life. And boy we know the stories are not always rosy red and pinky pink. So what do you do with the painful memories, shove them away? No. Be grateful for them. For they tell you the real reasons why you should be thankful for your fun memories.

So the next time you cry reminiscing about that relationship of yours or the beautiful time of your life. Be grateful and know that it happened for a reason. Be kind and do not beat yourself up for crying or feeling lost or guilty. Embrace your flaws and be grateful enough to handle them. Because you have a chance, and chances my friend is what keeps the life going. And remember that there is never going to be a time when you will be perfect, you make the moment perfect, by accepting your flaws and strengths simultaneously at each moment.
